3D_Evolution
3D_Evolution is a data translation application, converting and optimising data from one CAD format into another.  All the major CAD-Systems (CATIA V5, CATIA V4, Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor, SDRC I-DEAS and Robcad) are supported allowing users to read and write data without a license of the source CAD system.  Advanced repair functions allow users to ensure the converted data meets the tolerance requirements of the target CAD system.  Automatic surface healing and stitching functions take away the chore of repairing models after data translation and allow engineers to focus on core design activities.  FEA and CFD preparation is accelerated with powerful de-featuring tools which can remove detail and clean surfaces in preparation for meshing.  Uniquely, 3D_Evolution also includes a feature-based kernel for the conversion of CAD models with full constructional history tree.  Having successfully completed a translation, 3D_Evolution can also be used as model comparison tool to validate the results.

3D_Evolution© Conversion Engine
Designed to provide rapid, high quality conversions throughout the supply chain, thereby enabling smooth data flow between all CAX-Systems involved. All primary systems and data formats are supported making 3D_Evolution the ideal conversion engine where data needs to be moved quickly and accurately. Complex geometry and assembly data can be converted without access to CAD system licences using automatic healing functions to remove small construction errors and inaccuracies.

3D_Evolution, Feature Based Module
Data can often be converted at a very basic level from system to system but the resulting files are ‘dumb’ and difficult to edit.  This module provides feature recognition and feature based conversion for all leading CAD/CAM systems, directly from binary data. After conversion, 3D models have their parameters defined with features and a history tree optimised to suit the target system.

3D_Evolution, Simplifier Module
The Simplifier Module can, with the push of a button, generate boundary geometry of individual parts or assembles This is invaluable when protecting intellectual property where data is moved throughout the supply chain or when used for the generation of simplified models for analysis, virtual reality and digital mock-up.  Features such as drill holes, cavities, or grooves can be removed to simplify a part. This significantly reduces the file size in a matter of seconds allowing it to be used for assembly studies or FEA (Finite Element Analysis) calculations.

3D_Evolution FEM Tools
CAD data often needs to be de-featured to remove excessive detail in preparation for meshing and analysis (Thermal, Stress etc). This advanced module allows features such as fillets, holes, round edges and chamfers to be removed, helping to bridge the gap between CAD and CAE departments.  The de-featuring function can  easily be configured to de-feature above or below user defined tolerances allowing non CAD trained staff to operate.

3D_Evolution Compare
The Compare Module will compare the geometry of two 3D models (part or assembly) and highlight any differences which exceed user-defined tolerances.  Findings are also documented in a log file.  The whole process can be run in batch mode with an HTML-log listing the results.
