Objectives
- Creation of design and manufacturing template drill jig for generating fastener holes through wing rib and spar posts
- Production of KBE template to allow complete jig assembly to be created driven by different input geometry, with the design adapting to the new geometry while respecting embedded design rules.
Project Scope
Creation of tool geometry:
- Top & Bottom drill plates
- Standard parts –drill bushes, feet, clamps, location pins etc
- 60% time saving achieved
Creation of 2D Drawings:
- Assembly & detail –including overall dimensions, tabulated hole tables, isometric view etc
- 80% time saving achieved
Creation of NC Process
- Part profiling, pocketing, drilling operations automatically created
- 80% time saving achieved
