Areva Challenge
AREVA Challenge was of the French team during the 32nd America’s Cup held in Valencia, Spain in 2007. The team was the outcome of a 2002 meeting between a pair of entrepreneurs - Ortwin Kandler and Stéphane Kandler - with Dawn Riley, a member of the team that won the 1992 America's Cup. Ortwin and Stéphane Kandler have been analyzing French and foreign teams since the early 1990s, rubbing shoulders with them via their company K-Yachting. Their analysis led them to identify key success factors, and they have earned recognition for their expertise in setting up the technical and human organization needed to compete on an international scale. The syndicate that became AREVA Challenge in April 2006 has brought together a team of people with experience in the America’s Cup, in the entrepreneurial world, and in project management.
