CATIA Express is a brand new suite of software which has been launched by Dassault Systemes and IBM. CATIA Express has been derived from the original CATIA V5 configuration which is a well established market leader within the automotive and aerospace industry today.

By providing a comprehensive set of modules CATIA Express recognises that certain industries require different functionality which is streamlined to their core business activities. CATIA Express offers a base platform that can be extended to ensure that the correct functionality can be provided for each customer. Beyond this specific CATIA functionality is bundled together into industry based configurations allowing the software to be purchased in a more flexible and cost effective manner

CATIA Express offers a 1st class CAD/CAM/CAE toolset with the additional benefit of the SmarTeam PDM (Product Data Management) functionality. SmarTeam PDM offers management of all CAD data irrespective of CAD system including the management of enterprise wide office data such as Microsoft Office documents.

SmarTeam encompasses the management of all data flowing through an organisation and its partners, during the development of new products and their lifecycle maintenance. This provides the benefits of one system rather than multiple databases for storing, recording, or retrieval of data.
